A Note from Courtney…

I believe we can all benefit from therapy and that no issue is too small to seek support for. My approach is compassionate, non-judgemental, and client centred. I strive to provide a comfortable and welcoming space that allows us to build rapport and develop trust. I am here to listen and encourage curiosity about your mental health journey. We will collaborate to meet your unique goals. I am interested in working collaboratively with people experiencing anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, relationship distress, and other challenges. Of particular interest to me are struggles with body image, self-esteem, and disordered eating. I value a weight-inclusive approach and a health at every size perspective. Together we can explore individual strengths, challenge deeply held beliefs, and practice tools to foster growth.

My background includes over 12 years of experience in criminal justice systems and a more recent focus on mental health. As a Master of Counselling student in my final year, I draw on a number of approaches tailored to your needs, and regularly consult with my supervisor to ensure you receive the best support. I have experience providing crisis line counselling as well as facilitating mental health workshops on anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, burnout, and vicarious trauma.

Sometimes other people say things that just make sense to me: “We need a world that insists upon safety and dignity for all of us—not because we are beautiful, healthy, blameless, exceptional, or beyond reproach, but because we are human beings.”

In my spare time I enjoy reading, snuggling with my dog and cat, and crafting. I also relish time with loved ones and walking in nature.
