A Note from Blair
I believe that the existence of positive and negative emotions is intertwined. Therapy with me does not seek to eliminate negative thoughts or emotions, but rather, aims to give individuals tools to manage those thoughts or emotions when they arise so they can live in a way that is authentic to them. I focus a lot on what is truly important to each unique person to foster a sense of meaning and purpose that drives committed change. This involves the examination of values and re-contextualization of goals in relation to the things that each client is uniquely passionate about. Finally, I care a lot about the broader social picture of one's life. Therapy with me integrates exploration about one's place in the world, society, and culture, and how to deal with outside sources influencing well-being.
I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology with an applied emphasis at Concordia University of Edmonton. I minored in Philosophy and graduated with high honours. I am currently completing my masters degree in Counselling Psychology at City University of Seattle (Edmonton Campus) where I have been on the Dean's List every semester. I have been an athlete at a high level since 2014 and have experience tackling performance related issues in myself and others. My experience as a bisexual and transgender person informs both my practice and outreach as I have been a part of multiple panels speaking about LGBTQ+ people in the counselling space and gaming/esports community
In my spare time I am a professional esports commentator. I have commentated events with over 5000 entrants that brought in over 100,000 viewers. This has allowed me to travel all over Canada and the United States. Other than that I am a huge movie nerd. The theatre is my happy place and i love discovering some of the hidden gems that are releasing. I also play competitive video games, competitive card games, go on walks, and airbrush when I am able to find the time!
